Compressing images is essential whenever you upload to a blog, online store, or email where file-size limits apply. This tool compresses JPG, PNG, and WebP images right in your browser, cutting file size dramatically with no visible loss in quality. Files are processed only on your device and never uploaded to a server, so it's fast and private.

How quality stays while size drops

Image compression reduces color and detail data that the human eye barely notices, shrinking the file. With the quality slider at 70–80%, most photos drop to less than half their size while looking virtually identical. If a photo is very large, limiting the max width (e.g. 1920px) alone can save a lot of space.

When this is useful

Great for speeding up blog and store pages, attaching several photos to an email, or sharing images in chat apps. Drag in multiple files to compress them in one batch. Trimming away empty margins with the crop tool before compressing can shrink the file even further.

Which format should you save?

Use JPG for photos, PNG when you need a transparent background, and WebP for a modern format that combines both strengths. To understand the differences, see our JPG vs PNG vs WebP guide. For deeper tips, read the complete guide to reducing image size.
