When you need a circle crop
Profile pictures, avatars, round logos, and people cut-outs need a circular image, not a square one. You can crop a circle right in your browser — no Photoshop required.

- Upload your image and choose 'Circle' in the ratio options
- Drag and resize the circular area (the square ratio is kept automatically)
- Click 'Crop' — everything outside the circle becomes transparent
- Save as PNG — it stays round on any background
Why the transparent PNG matters
A circle crop is saved as a PNG with transparent corners. That's why it keeps its round shape on any background, card, or profile frame. Saving as JPG would fill the corners with white or black, so PNG is the right choice.
Tips
- Center the face inside the circle
- Upload a large original if you need high resolution
- Shrink the file with the image compressor before posting
- Need a site icon? Try the favicon generator too
For other ratios like square or 16:9, the crop tool handles them in one place.
