Why every platform has a different size
Each platform displays images in a fixed aspect ratio, so a mismatched ratio gets auto-cropped or letterboxed. Cropping to the recommended ratio before you upload keeps your composition intact.
Recommended sizes by platform
- Instagram feed (square): 1080×1080 (1:1)
- Instagram feed (portrait): 1080×1350 (4:5)
- Instagram Stories / Reels: 1080×1920 (9:16)
- YouTube thumbnail: 1280×720 (16:9)
- YouTube channel art: 2560×1440
- X (Twitter) landscape: 1600×900 (16:9)
- Facebook shared image: 1200×630 (1.91:1)
Crop to the right ratio instantly
You don't have to memorize these — tap a use-case preset (Instagram, Stories, YouTube) in the crop tool to lock that ratio. Need exact pixels like 1280×720? Type them under 'Custom size'.
One last thing before you upload
Large images upload slowly and lose quality when the platform re-compresses them. After cropping, shrink the file with the image compressor for faster, cleaner uploads.
